1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to pHood’s website, mobile application, nutrition logging, scoring and reporting features, memberships, support, and related services (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Ananke Inc. (“Ananke,” “pHood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Information we collect
Identity and account references
Origin manages identity and authentication. pHood receives a stable account reference and authorization information needed to recognize your account and provide the Service. pHood does not receive your passkey or password.
Health profile information
You may provide birth date, height, weight, gender identity, nutrition reference sex, time zone, medications, supplements, regimen changes, wellbeing check-ins, and related information used to provide your private nutrition and health timeline. These inputs and the resulting baseline values are sensitive information.
Food, nutrition, and photo information
We collect food and drink descriptions, ingredients, quantities, meal timing, nutrition values, calculated scores, corrections, and photos you choose to upload. We also store processing status, uncertainty, and derived observations so the Service can explain what is known and what remains incomplete.
Membership, device, and support information
We maintain membership and billing references supplied by our payment provider, authenticated mobile-session records, basic request and security information, and anything you choose to include when contacting support. pHood does not store full payment-card numbers.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, secure, and troubleshoot pHood.
- Analyze submitted food information and return nutrition estimates, patterns, and explanations.
- Calculate personal reference ranges and show change over time.
- Process memberships, prevent fraud, respond to support, and meet legal obligations.
- Improve reliability and product quality using information minimized for the task.
pHood’s scores are informational observations. We do not use a food choice to judge a person, and we do not use health or nutrition information for targeted advertising.
4. Origin and privacy by architecture
Origin is Ananke’s identity and authorization service. It holds the authority to authenticate you; pHood holds the nutrition experience and pHood-specific records. This separation means pHood can verify that an authorized person is present without owning the credential that proves who they are.
When an approved family experience is introduced, Origin will also be responsible for verified family relationships and guardian authority. pHood does not currently offer independent child accounts or guardian monitoring, and we will update this policy before those features become available.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep pHood information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Some security, billing, transaction, backup, and legal records may be retained for a limited period when required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or law.
Deleting your pHood account removes pHood-owned profile information, nutrition logs, uploaded nutrition photos, medication and supplement records, regimen evidence, wellbeing check-ins, derived results, and active pHood sessions, except information we are legally required to retain. Because Origin is a separate reusable identity service, deleting pHood does not by itself delete your Origin identity. We make that distinction before deletion is confirmed.
7. Your choices and rights
You can correct food logs within the Service and may request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where applicable. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing. Some choices can limit functionality that depends on the affected information.
Visit Privacy choices or email hello@anankeinc.com. We may verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Children and future family accounts
pHood is designed to be welcoming and understandable for families, but the current release does not yet include the verified guardian consent, family-container, monitoring, and governance controls required for child accounts. A parent or guardian should not create an independent pHood account for a child until those controls are available. We will provide specific notice and obtain required consent before supporting child-directed collection.
9. Security, transfers, and changes
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No system can promise absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate, subject to applicable transfer protections.
We may update this policy as the Service, providers, or law changes. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. We will provide additional notice when required for a material change.
